  1. The Hindenburg was filled with Hydrogen gas. Pure Hydrogen gas does not burn . So, there had to be holes in the fabric to allow air in or Oxygen to mix with the Hydrogen to make an explosive mixture. Which is why it took so long to burn as there is not enough oxygen in the atmosphere right near the Hindenburg to burn up right away which is why it took some time to feed the fire. Hydrogen balloons are safe enough if it doesn't leak. Science would have taught you this mate.
