Now go away from vehicle and strike a match to see if the fuel lights. It it immediately lights it is gasoline. If you can't light it with a match instantly then it is diesel. (diesel is also the same as Kerosene or heating oil(sometimes called paraffin) That is IF the gas cap does not say gas or benzene or petrol(British) or "бензин" (Russian) I am thinking they may have a military designation name for the fuel. If you know what gasoline smells like then you are ahead of me. Then you need to find the fuel that is not being used in Molatov cocktails and pour that into the fuel tank and THEN YOU CAN DRIVE THE VEHICLE. Making sure your guys knows YOU got their stuff. A tank would be more useful especially if it still has ammo in it...but now you are a target. The Russians know their vehicles ran out of fuel so if one is moving, it is under Ukrainian control. .
