By the time you have pulled the 3rd crop off the same field, it needs rest and other nutrients put back into the soil otherwise the yield gets less and less. What does 50 gallons of canola oil cost? Or sunflower, or soy, or hemp. Way way way MORE than a barrel of crude. Most of the fermentation process has been done, we just distill out the lighter fuel oils(IN PETROL). Whereas with grain oil it has to go through the processing(fermentation & pressure cooking treatment and aging to get to the crude oil stage) then the fuel can be distilled out of it. You get a less energy rich fuel. Alcohol is LOW ENERGY fuel. We know this ALREADY. . Solar tractors? only in your dreams. Farmers ready the soil in the spring after the SNOW MELTS. Very little solar radiation as they work day & night. After the spring rains they are in the fields again to plant seed. Days are usually cloudy and cool. Then the farmer gets a break while the crop grows for several months. .When it comes time to harvest then again it is done day and night to get the crops in using multiple tractors before the winter rains. Once harvested it has to be processed. Who is doing that? The farmer? Nope, not for you. He could do it for his own purposes. None of it is high test gasoline. It is equal to diesel. . Go to a grocery store and price out a gallon of cooking oil. Then multiply by 50 gallons to get a barrel. That is what it costs YOU. Never heard of Government grants? Growing food is for national security...it is that important. An army cannot fight when their belly is empty. That is why food was never meant to be grown as a fuel. If that was the way it was, the cost of food you eat, that hamburger for example would cost easy $100. for a single patty. Think I exaggerate? In 2021, the United States consumed 18.7 million barrels of oil daily.(Google) Where are the fields for FOOD?When farmers are into oil production, then they are not growing food. Meaning food shortages. Prices sky rocket. Understand?

I noticed that they did not give information on the first diesel fuel (which was derived from plant oils.)Rudolf Diesel(from Germany) wanted a cheap fuel for FARMERS(because that is what they want) to produce food cheaply. So seed oils were used (corn oil, flax seed oil(aka linseed oil) and other grains could be pressed out to give an oil. (No cotton in Europe as it is too cold...so no cottonseed oil - though it was not needed)(Peanuts is also not grown in Europe the birthplace of the diesel engine.) They also had coal oil(kerosene). Kerosene is used instead of a diesel in a diesel engine and the engine runs fine. Diesel was basically a plant based oil(what the farmer grew on his fields.) . Big petroleum looked at that and said "we can distill it out of their crude oil" so taking the market away from the farmer as getting the oil out of grain means a lot of filtering and cooking. Farmers now could use ALL their field for food production instead of reserving half for fuel production. Which is why diesel was only costing pennies a gallon compared to FREE(which is what the farmer produced). Petroleum diesel was comparable to bio diesel and was more convenient. That is why used cooking oil can be used as diesel fuel substitute & also why kerosene is used when the weather is below freezing as kerosene does not jell in the fuel lines back into the fuel tank. Majority of jets use kerosene in their jet engines that fly high into the atmosphere where it is cold. Gasoline costs more. . Shell oil had NOTHING to do with the start of the diesel engine. They just made the movie. Shell had nothing to do with the invention of the engine (2 stroke, 4 stroke, Wankel, jet) . Many of the big inventions come out of Germany or England or other European country (before WW1 or WW2)

  4. Also, the U.S. was not under constant bombardment so you were not rebuilding the factories so you could continue working...so output went on unhindered. The sheer volume was a problem...for the Germans. New machines and fresh men.

  7.  @yamahajapan5351  Well, the so called Dino Oil which had nothing to do with Dinosaurs as they died out 65million years ago in a FLASH. So you have to go back earlier in time to like a Billion or 2 Billion years for the first life forms that were SLIME in the oceans and lakes(the first carbon life forms and they evolved into plants...plankton and seaweed that slowly climbed to the shores of the land and evolved into dry land plants. in a Carbon Dioxide rich atmosphere. Plants can survive in that atmosphere and they did and they breathed out Oxygen as they absorbed the carbon and nutrients in the ground to allow the plant to grow. Many grew and many died and became the soil nutrients for new plants that fed off their dead forefathers. Slowly they developed into making seeds that could fly farther away from the shoreline. and the plants progressed inward onto land. Give them 2 billion years of unrestrictive growth before the first animal life appears. (we do magic here because no one KNOWS FOR A FACT how that happened). But most likely a chemical process of water(from rain) combining with the right elements on earth at the right temperature and the basic Ribosome can be formed. Ribosome is the little brother to a chromosome both which multiply and within the many zillions of ribosomes there are going to be errors in copying identical versions of itself. If the error copies itself not knowing it is an error of the original then we have 2 distinct versions(many more than 2 like 2 squadillion and those are not identical either as they have mistakes too in the copying process. Somewhere in this process a simple chromosome is made & it goes on copying itself and committing errors. . Now you should understand when your mother says to you "you were a mistake". She may be closer to the truth than she realizes. . This we have only figured out since the advent of more powerful microscopes that we can read the DNA sequencing code to note that it is different even in identical twins. . For all animal and plant life consists of 4 main elements - Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen. . So oil is early plant life, living and dying and piling on top of each other composting remains(which we call fertile soil.) . We also know this because they are retrieving dinosaurs out of Le Brea tar pits meaning the oil has been around longer than the dinosaurs. We are also finding some dinosaur shells in coal seam deposits (coal is just dried up burnt up oil deposits that smoldered underground for centuries IMHO because coal is dried up Carbon. Oil is liquid carbon. You go where the chemical facts takes you. . We are burning biofuel right now which makes the air good for plants and not so good for animal life...(as it requires oxygen to survive and not really hot weather.) Forget the bible...it is a book of stories taken from older religions and their stories. Stories created to explain stuff because they believed it to be so...and no one had a better explanation. Hey, the old guys in their 30's got to eat and that is all that really matters. Their long life may be 45.
