  1. Bernie got to be a millionaire through donations. Which is part of his "INCOME". His income gets taxed for one year. @38%? As he is not running in the next election, then his income will be the interest the bank pays him on the total amount. That is his INCOME. So, the rate is less because the amount earned is less. It works on a sliding scale. Not on the total amount in the bank. That is why it is called "INCOME TAX".

  2.  @cooladam9930  Nobody paid 90% of his "INCOME" as taxes EVER. Nor can his accumulated pot of money can be touched. Just what he earned that YEAR.
