  1. Well, I was in hospital room and the nurse comes around and slips a thermometer under the tongue. One guy got a rectal thermometer under his tongue. The second nurse that removed it said so. We (other patients) laughed.

  2. In Austria...I thought the "nurse" is the one who marks out the leg for cutting & "preps it with colored antiseptic. Basically paints on the skin of the leg to be removed. It is not something a doctor would do so there is no way the doctor can mess up. Even if he was cutting 100 legs that day. You cut the one with the colored antiseptic on it. & just brings in his chain saw and cuts on the line. It takes a week to wash off the colored stain. That would be a mistake made twice. So twice as bad. So that is a 12 Million dollar repair job - 6 per leg?. They did not say whether patient was male or female but if it was male and they later ask him how long is his Johnston, he could honestly say "it drags on the ground when I walk".
