  3. Actually, I fault the seller of the weapons. He is the one that has contact with the buyer who does not have a gun at that moment. The seller, by talking to him with the simple sales questions CAN TELL WHERE THE BUYER'S HEAD IS AT. I can, (& I do not have any medical training) but know-by what they say & how they say it - is their attitude towards owning and using firearms. . I, as the store clerk HAVE THE RIGHT OF REFUSAL. I am the "FIRST" line of defense. . This seller did not give a schit. He only saw $$. >. You say you are buying the alcohol for your dad? But you want to buy a glass too? "Hmmm. No don't think so. You will have to bring your dad in." THAT IS HOW HARD IT IS TO GET ALCOHOL.< . The shooter came in and bought 2 guns AND +200 rounds of Ammo in the same purchase? (6 or 12 rounds would be NORMAL.) . ALARM BELLS should have gone off in the seller's head. / Mind you they can sight a gun in without firing it in the store. A special scope fits on the barrel and the sights are manually adjusted...to say 500 feet (usually closer because there is trees in the way so you can not see any farther than maybe 100 feet - for hunting rifles) No sighting required? Well, that is the customer's choice...but for a real gun owner, that service would be done in the store. Meaning it will take some time especially if the store is busy. Sighting a gun may only take 15 minutes. Usually one can wait that long. The shop keeper continues to talk shop talk to the customer, to get a better idea of his "state of mind" . The guns and ammo are not sold until the shop keeper is satisfied that this person is "most likely stable & of sound mind and has respect for weapons". Then the sale is finalized. The shop keeper did his part in assessing the purchasers "state of mind" as being stable.
