I drive 500 miles a day(when you figure in the slow downs in the towns you cruise through 35MP Imp. G (or 1 stop to fuel up and still had half a tank in it per day on a 10 gallon tank) or ONE 10 minute stop for fuel. Batteries have to come a LONG way and in the REAL COLD(-30Fto-40F) to even be a consideration. Now I have experienced a non turbo diesel @75MP Imp.G(I do the calculations with calculator and pencil and paper)or 740 miles(no one wants to run it dry) so fuel every 2nd day in a 10 gallon tank(diesel=cost of low test gasoline). The 500 miles per day happen because every town is beside the highway so you got to do the city speed limit as you cruise through and there is always road repair crews out and traffic so same, same. Speed "averages" out to 40 mph. and drive 10 hours is long enough for a day.

When the road shows melt, it is not cold. This is not a car for THE COLD. As for batteries, I store mine in the freezer and they lose nothing once they are warmed up again...so answer me that
