@IrishRebel88 When I fish and catch suckerfish or carp (I understand they both are bottom feeders) lets of bones and almost not worth retrieving the hook so leave the fish attached on the line for hours and then drag it out of the water and slap the fish on the ground, hoping to dislodge the hook. Maybe I do it for half an hour(either I get the hook back or not) 2 hours later the freaking fish is still alive if you put it in a tub of water it swims away. . Anyways, Koi are orange colored Carp. Some people will pay $1000 for the fish for their pond. These fish are very attractive to look at (with splotches of Orange, black and white) and just as hard to kill. They can live in a sewage drain pipe(4"diameter stuck into the ground like a post- so upright) summer & winter with Ice and snow and be alive next year. Hell, the cat won't eat carp. or Koi or sucker....but is OKAY with Tuna, whitefish, trout, salmon. Perhaps they know Carp will eat them.?
