  6.  @memysurname7521  "Most in the U.S. have British blood, mind, as well same language"? Nope, not even close. The Brits did "win the war" of Independence, as the English Language remains...proving they were once the ruling country. The French, the Irish, the Spanish, the Italians and the Native North Americans & Aztecs all fought the British that were here. The Chinese were imported in and some came as free Gold Prospectors then later merchants and other workers(they multiplied like rabbits on steroids) The language is the last to go when you drive away most of the invasionary force (after all, your spies would have to talk with a Cockney accent or be discovered) The country was so large it was hard to protect the border from invasionary forces(who would learn the language of the land and then melt into the population. Unless they were really different such as those from Africa (their skin always has that "tanned look") At night, they all look the same. So the early governments and even early natives allowed the first boats ashore and set up a hovel no matter the nationality. They figured the first winter in the North East should kill off crazy farmers.( the natives migrated southward following their fresh meat on the hoof as it migrated south to more livable(warmer climes). . True Americans are NATIVE North Americans. . True Canadians are NATIVE North Americans. . True Australians are NATIVE Australians. The white man that claimed that for the Crown was English.(from England) . Christopher Columbus was Italian financed by Spain to find new land and claim it for Spain . America was named after a Spaniard(or Portuguese) dude Enrico Amerika. Use Google. That is where I found it. Enrico was naming the CONTINENT North America & South America and Central America as the land that joined the 2 continents together - as he had to sail around the tip of South America to go up the west coast. He probably got eaten along the way or died of malaria. Can't say & don't care anymore. As comparisons go. It is fair to compare ancient Empires with Empires of today because people are people. Dey fluck up (though you are looking through the lens of a couple hundred years comparing it to a couple thousand years and trying to equate them as being equal. They are NOT.
