Yvon Q. Let's put things in order.
1) Celtic languages are two groups:
i) Gaelic (Scottish Gaelic, Manx, Irish)
ii) Brittonic (Welsh, Cornish, and Breton). Breton is not Gaelic.
2) Just as there is Scots in Southern Scotland, there is Gallo in Eastern Bittany.
It has a few differences from standard French, like saying Be'rtagne instead of Bretagne.
3) Yes, Gallo is older in Brittany than Celtic Breton! It originates, like French and Occitan, from the Roman colonisation of Celtic Speakers; Breton came later with *Welsh refugees fleeing the Saxons. (It's been suggested, though, that the Breton dialect of Gwened (fr. Vannes), which is different from others, might be a survival of continental Gaulish.)
