  33. Cyrus is incorrect. The problem goes back a lot further than the modern technological age. Back at least to the '50s, when I was born, teachers, principals, schools - hell, the whole educational system, was encouraging parents to take a hands off approach. "We're the experts; you need to trust us," was the message. That was back when most women were stay-at-home-moms. Like I say, it goes back before the turn of the 20th century, but that's the era I'm most familiar with.

  35. It's not a buy-out. In fact, Fox, write it on the whiteboard 100 times, it's not a buy-out. Federal agencies receive money on 01 October for the fiscal year that ends on 30 Sep. That's when that allocation starts. The money is already in that agency's "bank account" (so to speak) and all they have to do is dole it out every 2 weeks to their people. What he's doing is promising to continue to pay people through the end of this fiscal year, EVEN IF THEY DON'T DO ANY WORK. All they have to do is resign. In writing. They can continue to work; they can stay home, but Trump is saying they're still going to get paid through 20 September 2025. On 01 October 2025, they will no longer have a job. He's playing a numbers game, which is what Elon did with Twitter. The thinking is that if enough people quit or are fired/laid off, then efficiency can and will be improved. Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell. The last "good" number I heard was 1% of the federal workforce had agreed to the deal. These are people who are nowhere near retirement.

I've done factory work, restaurant work, construction, truck driving, been in the Navy and the Army both, a professional auto mechanic. Later, I went to college and became a white collar worker, but yeah, every trade I worked, drug and/or alcohol abuse was pretty rampant. Oh, and the 1st responders are not exempt. If anything, they're worse than the rest.

  47. The thing of it is, they persecuted Trump every day in the media and on social media, and in the courtrooms, but he refused to be a victim. The party of victims wanted to turn him into a victim, but that iconic moment when Trump, bleeding from the ear, shoved his fist in the air and cried "Fight! Fight! Fight!" is emblematic of that refusal to be a victim.
