@torunit4620 I left California in 2005, having been stationed at Point Mugu. I've traveled from there, down through Malibu all the way down to Santa Monica several times. I made the trip from Imperial Beach to Port Heuneme, once, on a motorcycle, back in about 1978, to see a shipmate stationed up there. I took I5 back, rather than going down PCH, and all that. Never again. Even at that time, it was a cluster all along there until I got north of Malibu.

I don't know where that plaque is from, but somebody needs to go back and check their work. JOSEPH V. Meigs was a gynecologist, not an inventor. He was the grandson of JOSIAH V. Meigs, who was an inventor and former Civil War Union officer. Josiah's father was Jonathan. Josiah is apparently named after one of his great uncles (ie, his father's uncle).
