Yaaaay, cat content :) I'm skeptical about ANYTHING big corporations throw at us - they've got their reasons (making as much cash as they can, churning out products made reasonably cheap and pushing some marketing spiel to sell them), and keeping the older product running is not one of them. Not sure if Wozniak, or even Jobs would subscribe to it, but hey - it's the late capitalism after all. I'm in the repair business long enough to know that even if spare parts ARE in fact available, they can be so expensive that buying them separately and putting a device together would cost you a few times more than buying the same device brand new with no discounts. Makes repairing stuff hard to afford... you never get the guarantee that when one part breaks down and you repair it, something else won't fail soon. Meeeeh, planned obsolescence.
