  1. It all starts with "no user serviceable parts inside". The manufacturers treats anyone other than their authorized service centers as regular users incapable of repairing their stuff. You're totally right about this going way beyond Apple (or Lenovo, for that matter).

  2.  @blank.e5plus  well, any tube equipment for that matter - amplifiers etc. Know your stuff before you open one. Otherwise you're in for a shock therapy.
