Israel left Gaza in 2005 and there was a period of relative calm until 2007 when Palestinians elected Hamas, intent on destroying Israel. The problem was that Palestinians sent suicide bombers into Tel Aviv cafes, the reasons Israel closed the borders was protecting civilians …
