crime contributes a few percent to BTC volume, it's always overblown like in this DW piece. You can literally look at all bitcoin transactions because they are on public ledger - way more transparent than the current fiat system. If you're a criminal and still trade in BTC , good luck!

I thought the same a few minutes into it, looks like IMF wrote the script ... poor, very poor journalism DW

yup, very different from how DW normally appears. This appears to be very agenda driven reporting

you broke the first rule of crypto investment: invest as much as you can afford to lose. Sorry but that's your bad

and your president and your nation will have a place in the history book on digital currency, unlike all the fearmongers who'll be forgotten

have you been living under a rock the past 50 years? Gold standard is gone. The paper you call money is backed by nothing other than your government stating "it'll be fine"

@ericsarnoski6278 not sure what you mean with 'real' but I think you miss the point. Neither printed paper with ink nor say gold has some real intrinsic value, it only has value because people believe in it ... if people stop accepting gold, even your goldbar will be devoid of value, you can have tons of paper and gold and noone would care if people trade in cows. I would encourage you to read about btc with an open mind and try to see what it tries to achieve rather than just getting hung up on it being less 'physical'

@endianAphones Taliban were certainly welcome by the Afghan men who refused to fight

wait - so you're not faxing your Bitcoins?

in El Salvador some people don't have phones, a lot of people don't have bank accounts. Do the math yourself
