  3. marawan ahmed It's not about the 1000 lashes but the idea of being punished for not having the freedom to say what you wish that angers most of the people in the Free world. Even if he was to get a gentle "Pinch" just once for what he said, He doesn't deserve it because it's an unjust punishment and a way to silence people from speaking what they wish. The Islamic nations should realize that religion just like other things - Politics, Sports, Leaders, Games, Hobbies has no right to be immune to criticism. We discuss about how bad a Leader is, How good a Sports Player is, How fun a game is, How stupid your hobby of collecting stamps is, But we should not discuss about Religion ? Why not ? Everything should be freely discussed and nothing should be forbidden in a free society.  Speech and Ideas should be forbidden ONLY if it includes Racism or Physical Threats against someone.

  4. ***** Islam today has multiple factions, So it depends on what version of Islam - Sunni, Shia, Ahamadiya, Sufi, Salafi etc. Salafi follow extremist version of Islam, Sunni have differences with Shia , Shia are normally the liberal Muslims, Ahmadiya is a Modern Islamic movement that can also be considered the most peaceful Islamic group today along with Sufi (Mystical Islam) which is more into Spirituality. The True core of Islam lies somewhere in between the teachings of Shia & Sufi Islam. It is said that the Prophet considered himself a Mystic (Which relates closely to Sufi Islam). Other sects hijacked it later on after the death of their Prophet. Most of the terrorist attacks you hear of today are carried out by Salafis and Sunnis (Of course, I don't mean all Salafis or Sunnis are extremists). Ahmadiya and Sufi Muslims are the most peaceful Muslim Community today..
