  1. genie0390 It is hard for an American living on a Peaceful continent isolated from any enemies, Daily border incursions, Terrorist attacks to understand why India needs a Military when the truth is it is surrounded by Terrorist Pakistan and Communist China (Both Hostile Nuclear Powers). Remember that moment when U.S armed itself to the teeth, hearing about USSR, over at the other end of the Planet had Nukes too ? Now think of 2 Nuclear USSRs sitting right besides you..  Who have a History of going to war, This is the situation of India with Pakistan & China.   India has had 5 Major Wars where it lost lots of it's territories in the past century alone (4 Wars started by Pakistan and 1 by China). I bet you know none of this, You just simply assume, Indians are out there trying to join the Arms race...  .
