I'm a Hindu and I proudly have a Portrait of Sikh Guru - Guru Gobindh Singh Ji in my Living Room of my House, Its one of my Proudest Portraits 😄

We Hindus are Educated, Secular and Modern. We understand Religions were invented by Ancient people. We are slowly evolving and embracving Modernity, While still being proud of our History, Culture and Civilization. I'm Proud Hindu Atheist who doesn't believe in any Hindu Gods, I only believe in Scoenc and Logic.

"Those who know, Do not say. Those who say, Do not know" - Bodhi Dharman (Called Damo by Chinese people) He was a 3rd Century Indian Buddhist Monk who travelled to China to spread the message of Buddha

Here is a Short Story : A Family of 3 had once hired a Taxi with a Sikh Driver and carried a Baby and were returning back from a Hill Town called Shimla to a nearby City. But due to Heavy Rain, The Car Skid at the edge of the Road and the Car was about to topple. Then the Sikh Driver gets out and Pushes the Car alone, Risking his Life saving the others who were still seated inside to balance the weight so the Car doesn't topple over. He successful saves everyone !!! You thought it was just s Story ? You are wrong This was a real Incident and the Baby was me.. Some 26 years ago. I'm forever indebted to that Sikh Driver who saved the Life of me and my Parents and my Grandma.

"Who knows whence our Universe was born and how it came into existence. Perhaps the Gods were responsible or perhaps the Gods themselves know not" - A Hymn from Rig Veda (Rig Vedas is the Oldest and Most Sacred Hindu Text, Equivalent to Hindu Bible) It took complete Humility for Ancient Hindus to consider the fact that perhaps the Hindu Gods they worshipped themselves did not know everything and maybe our Universe was Grander than all Religions and Gods combined. This thought arose among Ancient Hindus, They never considered knowing everything and never claimed to know everything. Very few people of the past show such Humility and Real Pursuit of Knowledge.

Buddha was born in Lumbini, Kapilavastu in what is today Modern Nation of Nepal but was part of Ancient Indian Subcontinent back then. Buddha's original name was "Siddartha" (Meaning : One with an Auspicious Name). His Father's name was King Shuddhodhana (Meaning : One who has accumulated Wealth through Noble means) and his Mother Maya (Meaning : Deceptive Illusion). He was born to family of Shakas. Shakas were a Migrant Tribe from Central Asia, Who assimilated to Ancient India and adopted Hindu practices and names. Although, Buddha went on to found his own School of Thought in Hinduism - What we call today as "Bauddha". Bauddha is made up 2 Sanskrit words - Bhava (Emotions / Reality) + Yuddha (War). So Buddhism is basically - The Way to Master one's War over Emotions / Reality.

Actually, No. Hindu Kings practiced Polygamy (Wedding of Multiple Wives) back in the day so Buddha probably had many wives, Maybe a Whole Harem of them, Just like any other Ruler. But from what we know he only had on Child - Rahula. In Eastern religions, Renouncing Sexuality was not needed to be Religious person. The guy who wrote Kamasutra (Ancient Indian Sex Manual) was infact a Hindu Sage or Holy man who was married and went on to have Kids and Grand-Kids.

Dharms is similar to "Warrior Code" for Knights.

Proud to be Hindu Atheist. I don't believe in any Hindu Gods, I consider them all Fairytales and Myths. But I'm still proud of my Hindu Identity, History, Culture and CIvilization. Just like most Greeks today who are Proud of their Greek Culture and History, We Atheist Hindus are Proud of our Hindu Culture and History.

Yes, In Hinduism the first man - Manu is assisted by Hindu God Vishnu who takes the form of a Giant Fish to drag his boat and guide it to Safety during Pralaya (Pralaya meaning a Major World Catostrophe). Hindu Scripture like Kalki Purana also talks about the final Avatar of Vishnu - Kalki , Who arrives on a White horse to slay an Evil Tyrant and Demon who will persecute entire Mankind in the Future (Similar to BIblical prophecy of second coming of Christ and his battle wiht the Anti Christ).

Abra ? You mean the Pokemon ? :D

You are correct. Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism are Dharma. Dharma does not mean Religion, They are best translated into - "A Righteous Way". The Word Religion is derived from Spanish word - "Religio" or "Rally people to Convert to your Belief". There is no Concept of Conversion in Indic Religions.

It could be a lot of things. I came up with 3 theories : Theory 1 - These incidents record a bygone era of Ancient Indian Civilizaiton, where Characters like Krishna are vaguely appropriated from real life people. Theory 2 - These Incidents were not real and fictional, written for Political or Cultural reasons to unite people of India against a Common cause. Thoery 3 - These incidents were inspired by some Foreign Stories like the Trojan War, Then passed on through the Silk Route Any of these Thoeries could be true, There is no reason to believe only Theory #1 is correct, Only History will answer this. For now, Just like Christians believe in Myth of Jesus and Muslims believe in Myth of Muhammad, We Hindus should also believe in our Myths.

We Hindus still speak the language of Babylonians. Our Towns are called "Uur", Just like the Babylonian City of "Uur" and "Uruuk".

He also conquered Kashmir from Afghan Ruler and appointed Hindu Dogra as a Ruler. He had no ambition to rule over Kashmir. Such was the Great Noble and Generous attitude of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji, He was never after Power or Kingdom, He only wanted to defend and protect Bhaarat.

Fun Fact : Buddha never confirmed or denied the Existence of God. He merely smiled and asked his Followers to find out the Truth by themselves. One of his Famous quotes - "Believe nothing in what someone tells you or even what I tell you - Unless it agrees with your own Common sense".

@imranmdyatim3674 Some HIndus eat beef, Even though it is forbidden in Hindu Scripture. India is a Farming and Agricultural Civilization, like Greeks, Burmese and Vikings who also never ate Cows. Civilizations that emerged near River Banks and Ocean never needed Plenty of Food, They evolved into eating Crops that they grew and for this Livestock like Cows were important. If you killed your Livestock which was used for Tilling the Land and Running the Water Fountains, How can you grow your Food ? Horses were not common in India as they were in Europe, Only Cows were used for Tilling the Farmland. So, It is common sense - People who have plenty to eat have no need to kill animals for Food.

Don't be silly, There is nothing wring in depicting Sikh Gurus in respectable way. That is how you preserve your Legacy.

No, Because in Hinduism and Buddhism, You start Meditation by identifying your Soul (Called Jyothi), Not your Body. A Soul has no desire, It is just an exitential entity with no Identity, Aspiration, Love, Hate or Feelings. This is the Main Topic of Hindu Scipture - Bhagavat Gita also where the Hero is confused whether to kill or surrender when fighting his Relatives. So Krishna suggests he do the right thing and eliiminate Evil men, Without consider emotons and feelings that he is killing his relatives on a Battlefield.

There are many ways to Truth. If Truth is a number like 100. There are Infinite ways to arrive at100. 1+99 = 100 101-1 = 100 100 x1 = 100 500 / 5 = 100 Just like a Scientific theory which also has many ways to arrive at the Solution. In the end, its about Variety and Diversity, Which are Beautiful. Look around you, There are no 1 Planet, 1 Star, 1 Galaxy, The Truth is Infinite - Many Animals, Many Planets, Many Galaxies, So why not Many Gods and many ways to know these Gods ?

No offense, Kerala, Punja and Haryana farmer are not all of India's farmers.
