Homo Sapiens have only been around for like 50,000 Years of 3 Billion Years of Earth's History, Anyone who thinks any Intelligent Alien Species would live in the same era as ours is simply unaware of the fact that Alien Civilizations would have risen and fallen several Millions of years ago or would have not evolved yet at all, They don't necessarily have to exist in the same timescale as us.

@feelerr That's just the Artists's rendering, We could never see the terrain on it. It could be so unique and different, Even if it's at the right distance, We can't be sure it has Liquid Water. Who knows, It might have oceans of Hydrocarbons or Sulfuric Acids where no life could even thrive. Remember that we are making these assumptions on a Planet that is 600 Light Years, A totally Alien Star which might have given rise to a totally new set of Planets with unique Elements from ours.

@campdw Perhaps.. Several Species have already been wiped out of our planet completely in the past with Mass Extinctions cause due to Change in Weather, Massive Flooding, Global Warming, Mega Volcanoes, Meteor Impacts and ignoring all these, you could still consider the threat of humans warring on each other and wiping each other extinct with nukes.
