The question is would they beat a No Dait if found to be a Thief ? If they would, Why label it Caste atroity ? They just beat thieves for stealing, Not because they were of Particular Caste. Don't get me wrong, I don't support any of this in any way. Those men should rot in Jail for next 2 years or more.
