The reality is - Nalanda was completely funded by Hindu Kingdoms like Vardhanas of North India, Lohityas of Kasmir, Chalukyas of Karnataka, Bhojas of Sindh, Guptas of Central India and Palas of Bengal. There was no concept of Religion as an Individual Community Identity in Ancient time. Buddhism was just another extendsion of Hinduism, Just like Specializing in Electronical Engineering after Gradiation is a further extension of PCME.
