  1. Nonsense, Tamil reached its Zenith during reign of Vijayanagara Empire. The Ashtadiggajas were a group of eight poets in the court of the Vijayanagara Empire's King Krishnadevaraya. Do you know of Tenali Ramakrishnan - The Genius Poet and one among the Famous Eight Poets ? He was actually Tamil Brahmin and many of his Poetry and Witty jokes to this day are in Tamil. The rulers respected and celebrated the cultural diversity of their subjects, which included Tamils. Famous Tamil Poets like Kumaraguruparar, Arunagirinathar and Purandaradasa lived during the reign of Vijayanagara and composed Famous Poems in Tamil, The most famous being ""Thiruppugazh"", Tamil Hymns composed by Arunagirinathan.
