Those are Indian Commuinst invented lies brother. No Proof that Pushyamitra tried to eradicate Buddhism itself since one can still see Buddhist Monuments from that Era which lies in Historical ruins due to neglet of time, No damage has been done throgh any war or Conflct, He had clash with neighbouring Kigndoms which happened to be Buddhist, They were all Political wars fought over Territory.
Remember, Hindu Kingdoms like Pandya, Rashtrakuta, Hoysala, Pala, Lauhitya, Vardanas were all Patrons of Buddhism. Nalanda existed because it was funded and kept alive by Hiindu Donation money through Hindu Kingdoms, But left to be compeltely run independenly by Buddhists.
Now before you accuse mE of Hindus taking credit for Nalanda, That;s not my intention. My point is Hindus and Buddhists always lived like Siblings. We never saw each other as differnt. Foriegners came and sowed seeds of division betwen us. Even today, Where is the point of conflict between a Hindu and a Buddhist ? Nowhere.
