  1. Um, hate to burst your hate bubble, but there were more drilling contracts signed last year than all of 2017. About the XL: it ain't our pipeline, it ain't our oil. The Canadians would sell it to us, but at full market value. Canadian oil ≠ American oil ≠ energy independence. Takes a while to get the ball rolling again after a big shutdown like 2020. Production slowed, refining slowed, not as much was sold. Stocks depleted and are coming back. Whine all you want, but it won't go any faster.

  2.  @thespook9808  Yes, I know this. Check on the drilling contracts for 2021. They've approved a ton of them. I live around production. Pump jacks about 5 miles away. They shut them down in 2020 because the price bottomed out when nobody was buying and the Russians and Saudis were having a pissing match. It wasn't worth the expenses to pump at that time. I don't work rigs anymore, but it's all around me.

  4.  @scottwasson  Rubles have more value to burn than to spend right now. I offered 1 USD for 1,000 Rubles the other day, but now I'm up to 1/5,000 Might as well make a toasty fire with a stack of Rubles.
