@teck1756 Not only a rewrite of laws, but the media, which tbh often decides our candidates with boardroom decisions of who to amplify and who to bury. You shouldn't need to be a multi-millionaire (or sell out to one) to become president. Media corps (yes, this one included) create interest with their support and advocacy. We are force-fed candidates.

@seemev2.0phuckbootube78 I am old enough to know that things were not always like this. There were always disagreements on governance, but working together was a goal not an aberration. I can point to what I believe was the beginning of the downturn: getting rid of the fairness doctrine and the rise of cable shows developed as media arms for politicians. A good start, a way to break this cycle, would be to rewrite and reinstate the fairness doctrine. By itself, that is not a panacea, but would be a start.
