That ain't the only problem: 1. Rick Scott, Social Security and Medicare. 2. Kowtowing to religious leaders. 3. Tucker and Laura playing up identity politics every chance they get. A renunciation of Trump, trumpism and an apology would begin to bring folks back, but Republicans need to message about how they will actually and exactly fulfill some of their broad ideas we've heard about.

Our constitution would need to be amended because it is written that each state shall manage elections according to (mostly) their own rules. An amendment about changing that would be a difficult sell.

@Redtecho Well Bradley, I like to think I really do have a good grasp of why Republicans failed in these midterms. My list goes on if you'd like: 4. Election denialism/lies caused people to turn away from Republicans. Let's hear some of your ideas about why they did so poorly.

@Redtecho I think we can agree that Democrats should have lost many many more races than they did. I put all of the faults for Republican failures squarely upon their own shoulders.

@Cupid-Stunt It is a curious thing that some in this country attempt manipulate the republic/democracy issue using terminology in an attempt to claim the largest pile of bananas. The correct answer is of course D: Corporatocracy. Having been a parent for twice as long as I was not I find it satisfying to see the band of recalcitrant loons get collectively spanked using the only means available to the proletariat: our voices through our votes. I can imagine the shudders happening in certain circles, which occurred last Tuesday night when it became apparent that manipulation of the masses is possible for only short bursts...I believe the saying is "we're dumb, but we ain't stupid". Interesting fact about most Democrats I know: none is interested in autocratic rule; only in the assurance that we actually use the rulebook specified for this particular game. It was comforting to realize that the majority of citizens still believe in small d democratic principles. Kicking, screaming and gnashing their teeth, the rest will continue to be dragged forward to something new...provided we can help them resist their coprophagic tendencies ("it's crap son, leave it alone!"). We'll see I guess.
