  1. A soldier receives training with the weapon. I would be more at ease if every 18 year old who wanted to purchase a weapon had mandatory weapons training.

  2.  @jpjp3873  No, but the training would a) perhaps weed out crazies b) perhaps provide camaraderie to the disaffected c) at a minimum teach kids the difference between call of duty and real life. This whacko in Texas was a loner. What does it take to alter the mindset of a loner? Inclusion...weapons training may have been that thing of inclusion. Who knows? Maybe not, but not trying ain't working.
