  2.  @varyolla435  In the case of Afghanistan we couldn't even decide what "winning" actually meant. At least with gambling one can fathom the low odds in winning a jackpot, but at least we know what a jackpot means in gambling. In Afghanistan we had no fixed idea what the jackpot was. A mini-USA? A stable democracy? A friendly foreign nation? A tamed foe? I remember the debate on the decision to invade was about a minute and a half. 6 months later we were already asking what the end game was.
