  1.  @leonardlloyd1089  Strange how it's different across the country. I live in the west, I guess closer to producers. We have plenty of those things you mentioned. I also have land to produce during the summer months. Butchered in fall and harvested for freezing and canning. Some laugh at our pitiful income, but we don't want for much right now.

  2. What part of the country do you see empty shelves? In my area the only thing I can't find is Fritos corn chips. The plain ones. I find that weird.

  5.  @caroldepp2545  I hear you. We need to change that. There's only two in my area and I tell my friends to shop there. We had IGA stores around when I was a kid. Each one was locally owned. Monopolymart moved in and killed them off. There's so much wrong with that...

  6. Just because Biden has butched this doesn't mean the Republicans are "all better now". Getting power for power's sake means nothing. I'd like to see them actually respond to the will of the people for once.

  8.  @annwilliams9826  Heck, I'm not bragging. It's just I can't complain about something I'm not experiencing. Except for the Frito thing. I haven't looked into it, but I'm guessing production is down at the Frito plant. My daughter wanted Frito pies on her birthday and we had to use regular corn chips.

  9.  @caroldepp2545  It's terrible how huge corps like walmart have killed off the independent grocers. We should support those ones which are left and not shop at walmart. Local shops source differently and the more diverse the supply chain the better chance we have at always having goods. Capitalism is good, but monopoly is bad.

  18.  @raptor1537  Just curious, jeez calm down. I'm surprised to hear about shortages because we're not experiencing them. And no, my state is not experiencing shortages. Just seems strange to me that some folks are. I drive I-40 all the time surrounded by just as many trucks as usual.

  20.  @jerroldrieger5345  Sorry to hear there's empty shelves there. Seems to be prevalent in areas with high population which depends on importation rather than localized production. In our area there is lower population and quite a bit of greenhouse production in winter. Much of what I buy is produced within a couple hundred miles. As mentioned before, I also invest much time into growing what we need. It cuts into my monetary income, but right now I'm glad to have the food that others seem to lack. One thing I do lack right now is my own large greenhouse. I have an acre in a county 40 miles from my home I hope to use. I just need to get the county to change the land-use agreement. Or, I may build a small dwelling with a large greenhouse attached. It'd all be for personal use, not commercial...
