@joshuabeemer4062 You asked why it hasn't happened yet. I gave the real answer. They wouldn't be doing it now except for the fact they think it'll be damaging to Biden. Do you believe this is the first instance of this to occur? The GOP had zero interest in a bill like this in 2017, 2018, 2019, or 2020, when very similar things occurred. Why do they suddenly have interest?

@krissykriss328 Except they actually weren't. You do understand that numbers from that time period are a part of a historical record, right? The only time period they were somewhat under control was during 2020, with title 42. And title 42 is a temporary measure.

@krissykriss328 2017-18, the GOP had the House, the Senate, and the presidency. They did not fund a wall, nor did they write any immigration or border legislation. They did, however, manage to pass some tasty tax breaks for billionaires and corporations.
