  4.  @Wardell43  Born and raised. Why don't you understand that Republicans have no power to remove anyone right now? They can get together and vote to remove Nancy, but it will do no good. Those in the majority name the speaker.

  5.  @Wardell43  There has never been a speaker who was not of the party in the majority. You are dreaming if you think any dems would a) vote her out and b) vote for a republican speaker. You think worry of losing their seats is a motivating factor? Voting against Nancy would ensure they lose their seats. The rules of the house state that the speaker is chosen at the beginning of each congress. There is no set procedure for removal of the speaker. What I am saying is that your idea is a pipe dream.

  6.  @Wardell43  "What the law is"??? There is literally no law or rules about removing the speaker of the house. Could it technically be accomplished? Some say yes, in theory. As I said, it has never even been attempted....not even when the Rs were pissed at John Boehner and they were in the majority. The thought that the minority party could somehow stage an uprising against the majority party speaker? That's a big nope. And this ain't Canada or the UK. Those are parliamentary systems in which it's common to have confidence votes. It just doesn't happen here. Like I said, it's a pipe dream.

  8.  @randym8393  Every Republican candidate everywhere is kowtowing to Trump right now. He can claim victory for all of them....in the primaries. Gonna be interesting to note how much one million covid deaths will affect the general elections. Most of the deaths were in 65+ demographic which votes Republican by a margin of 3-1. Hmmmm.
