  2. The United States is pumping oil now at the highest rate in history. We are the top producers of oil in the world, as well as the top consumers in the world. Oil is a finite resource. Whoever controls the resource when supplies run low will control power. Why would we not want to stretch our supplies in any possible way?

  6.  @samuelfink4799  The oil industries in the United States are heavily tax subsidized. If you have ever purchased oil (gasoline or diesel) in the US, you have indeed benefitted from these subsidies.
