@jamesa77522 The meeting wasn't last night. Ladybug was busy starching the hats though. It's tough to get them points to stay crisp...

@ginojones5857 Gino, liberal and democrat cannot be used interchangeably. It was quite the liberal idea, by a Republican, to emancipate slaves. Back then the conservative thought was to preserve slavery. I'd suggest that you get a dictionary and use it.

@ginojones5857 So you can read a history book. Good on you! Now read up on the 1960s-70s when LBJ signed the Civil Rights Bill and was abandoned by southern democrats who then changed their party affiliation to republican. They were courted by Goldwater and then Lee Atwater in something called the southern strategy. White democrats in the deep south were disaffected by LBJ's support of civil rights and were scooped up by republicans. It's the reason black voters support the dems now. And the reason southern republicans still love their confederate flags. Get a clue Skippy, your thinking is backwards. We haven't even delved into how revolutionary and Liberal the idea of a constitutional republic was at the time of our founding as a country. Globally this was quite the Liberal idea (although we borrowed quite liberally from the French). Study history, but always with an eye towards context and perspective. And don't always try to sling the word Liberal as an epithet. I will always wear the label proudly, no matter my party affiliation.

@kennethfharkin All anyone need do to win an election is to slap the Trump label on their opponent. Large and active is a relative term. Perhaps large in the context of those ideologues, but nationally we have seen Trump and acolytes trounced in national elections. The party would be better off to wean itself from his label. He's toxic in a national election. Fox's trumpeting of Biden's poll numbers aside, this does not mean Americans are willing to go back to Trump. He barely made it in the first time and that was before his meltdown.

@kennethfharkin And yet, Kenneth, Trump lost both elections by popular vote. And was drubbed by such a weak candidate as Biden. The vote in 2020 was a referendum on Trump rather than folks voting for Biden. And, as I said, this was all before his post-election meltdown. Republicans would be wise to buy Trump's silence in '22 and '24. All a crap candidate like Newsom needed to do was slap the Trump label on Elder. The same happened for the Georgia senate elections. He's a liability which might sell in the primaries, but won't sell in the general.

@kennethfharkin I won't argue foolishness with you. Feelings ain't facts. The only reason you don't trust the last election is because Trump can't take it on the chin like a man. Anyone else would've stepped back, figured out why he lost and fix himself for another run. But the way it happened there is zero chance he's ever elected again. A kingmaker? Nah, watch candidates stiff-arm him for the general elections.
