  1. I had an issue with American Airlines a few years back. My third call to them happened on a weekend when their US computer systems went down. As a result my call was handled by a Mexico City AA representative who gave us two round-trip tickets to any AA destination worldwide. It made for a beautiful vacation.

  3. The US representatives called back the next day to declare a mistake had been made. I explained that I hoped their employee would not be harshly admonished and that I was quite happy with how they resolved the issue. They of course carried through on the offer, unwillingly.
