I think both those picks are terrible. I also think TvB II would be terrible. We definitely don't get our best and brightest, we only get those who media decides to make into shiny stars.

@ce6654 Two guys in a row who thought they know everything. We need people willing to work together. Enough with the "sides". How about just constantly working things out?

@ce6654 One of the best ways to do this would be to stop ALL of these media outlets who promote performance art by politicians instead of governance. There's one newly elected member who has said that the personalities of most politicians changes depending on whether something is televised or not. More time is wasted "looking" the part, "looking" electable for the next sessjon than actually governing. I'm old enough to remember when it was rare to hear from a politician on tv. Now they live for it.

@ce6654 Sure, showmanship has always been a part of politics, but now it seems to be the point of politics. We elect shiny stars, not effective governance. And not so long ago, media found themselves in the position of doing "product" placement. Take away the cameras and politicians become more sober about the job at hand.

He is definitely an intelligent man. I'd like to see him become more serious about policy and drop all the populist pretense. Most politicians who play up too much to one side (desantis) will never win in a general election. Populism has warts.
