Yeah, the movie may be great but Ronnie really wasn't. The interest rates, the exploded (for the time) debt, and the whole Iran/Contra coverup was something to live through. I can testify to that.

@Tempus_quod_non_movetur Completely different scales. Ronnie was horrible in his own right, but for different reasons. Trump was mostly just coasting until 2020, but the tax cuts added to the deficit were egregious. I had Trump picked for reelection in late 2019-early 2020...and then he showed the country the reality of his projected self.

@libhunter9379 You remember nothing, kid. It was Ford who campaigned with WIN buttons...whip inflation now, during the '76 campaign. Then the OPEC flex. Carter nominated Volker who pulled the country out of the mess.
