Uuh, no. She is a known opponent of abortion. Trump was wont to prove his bonifides with the right-wing conservative christians just in time for the election. Was she qualified? Sure. Was she the best and brightest? No. But hey, yeah, let's keep pretending she wasn't selected for a reason. The same can and will be said of Biden's pick. He'll pick someone who will do a good job. The right will squawk just as the left did when Trump's picks were made.
Actually, by record, Gorsuch had the least judicial experience of any recent picks. But he's also been fine.
Heck, I remember when liberals were losing their minds over John Roberts. He, like the other members don't cotton to the ruckus portrayed by the media. Yes, each member has their own conservative or liberal slant, but there aren't activists on the court. Each member is moderated by the other members and by the law. I don't really understand why conservatives are upset with the selection of a black woman. Some of the names I've read up on tend to be quite socially conservative. Not to say this won't be a liberal pick, it will be. But, that's how SCOTUS picks are currently made. Nowhere in the constitution does it mention qualifications for a Supreme Court Justice. They don't need to be judges or even attorneys. I personally think we should have qualifications and term limits for these appointments, but that'd require an amendment (3/4 of states would need to ratify). A bi-partisan nominating committee would be great also, but hahaha, that won't happen in the near future.
