@Dr. Burt Gummerfan ECP brakes are similar in nature to ABS brakes in cars and trucks. They can control a braking situation better than an "all or nothing" system like the old pneumatic braking systems. These ECP brakes use electronic signals to simultaneously apply and release brakes throughout the length of a train instead of each car individually applying brakes, resulting in better control during a duress braking event. What is so hard to understand about this? Why argue against the fact that this likely would have helped?

@Dr. Burt Gummerfan No, nothing has been proven, except for two things: ECP brakes are more effective than standard pneumatic braking, and Trump halted the Obama-era law on ECP brakes. Stop your fawning. It is more than embarrassing, it actually speaks of mental illness.

@jontesty1011 Yeah, brakes seemed to do fine, except for the derailment and subsequent leaks (yes, there was leaking vinyl chloride). Please feel free to get facts somewhere other than right-wingbat media.
