  1.  @dwreal1717  Hey, I'm gonna call a turd a turd. We never get our best and brightest as president. We get those who two insular parties determine to be best positioned to beat the other guy. We have idiots who can exploit the zeitgeist of tv populism. You have idiots who can point to their opponent and say "at least I'm not that guy". By doing this, by us allowing this, we get people to lead the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth who would not be considered a reasonable candidate for a job in the real world. We don't get leaders, we get cartoon characters.

  2.  Jeremiah  You don't know your history. That's not surprising though. Yes, there were absolutely US government policies of genocide of Natives. Do a modicum of research before spewing nonsense.

  3.  Jeremiah  Bad things on both sides? Nah, you had invaders and people defending their land and way of life. Swarms of invaders, backed by armies with superior weaponry who used their own laws to further steal lands from Natives. You had governmental policies of removal from fruitful lands so that Europeans could steal the lands. There was biological warfare by spreading disease through smallpox blankets. You had extermination of the bison by the US military because it was a food source for Natives. The land was stolen, the peoples killed or banished to worthless lands and then, to top it off, those who remained alive after all that were determined to not be worthy of the rights as citizens of "one nation under God". Don't tell me my peoples history, boy.
