The lower rates on unearned income and perks like the higher limits on inheritance taxes continues to move more money from the bottom to the top. They continue to revise the cost of how much the TCJA directly added to the national debt because it continues to climb.

  6.  @dsquared341  Will the wealthy "willingly" pay more taxes. No, I'm certain they won't just hand money to the treasury, that's why we write better tax laws. During the 1950s and early 60s we had the highest marginal rates in our history. We also had lower wealth gap than today AND it was a period of sustained growth.
