@T Well, seeing as those who seek power and money also always use religion as part of their schtick proves my point. So thanks for that. I'll keep quiet about this when you can point to a single war fought between groups fighting over whose form of atheism is best. You can't.

@astraghost774 First, nazis and italian fascists were certainly not atheists. Communists yes. But where did we see two atheist forces fighting over whose form of atheism was the "right" atheism? I can, on the other hand name 100 wars fought over whose god was best. We can see it today with those who decry an Iranian theocracy while at the same time pining for "our god in schools" and "more god in government". Same old crap, rewashed and revisited. What I do think is that everyone has a right to their own belief system, but it should not be a part of governance. Morals and values yes, gods and stories of gods no.

@johnschuh8616 I see theism as a closed bubble, which decides to fill the gaps in our current knowledge with a singular answer. On the other hand, science is the push to find the multitudinous answers of our gaps and provides definitive proofs. Any attempt to ideologically link the two using the same term does disservice to both.

@bigtobacco1098 How do you view a true theocracy such as Iran? Do you think we need religious leaders as political leaders in the US? The framers realized the futility of theocracy and enshrined that ideal in the first amendment. Freedom of governmental control of religion also means a disassociation of government and religion. A secular government. Believe what you will, but keep it out of government.
