  4.  @Tempus_quod_non_movetur  There's plenty of beautiful places there. Some pretty crap ones too. Try Sedona, if you can afford it. I like real mountains though, so while I've visited plenty I wouldn't live there.

  5.  @Tempus_quod_non_movetur  Flagstaff is ok, but it's definitely a college town. The ski area is adequate for flatlanders who are just learning. COL is too high, imo.

  6.  @Tempus_quod_non_movetur  There are nice places in WY if you stay away from the summer crowds. I almost bought a place near Green River, mainly because it was cheap and had water rights. But I decided I probably wasn't going to much with it after all.

I have a small farm, have 2 pickups, a tractor and a few rifles. Not exactly your idea of a blue-haired lib.

  12.  @Tempus_quod_non_movetur  Try the Wasatch. There's nice terrain there, plenty of open space, and COL is low. The people are a little weird, but...🤷‍♂️

  13.  @Tempus_quod_non_movetur  North Cascades are nice too, although it's getting pretty spendy because of CA transplants. Idaho has great places, but I find the people are pretty whacky. At least that's been my experience.
