  7.  @tlindsay1007  I have an acquaintance who bought a nice winter home in the Tampa area. His house was just grazed by the hurricane. Last I spoke with him, he said he has to buy three separate home insurance policies and said his premiums were big. Property taxes will be high wherever you drop other taxes. The pound of flesh will be paid one way or another.

  8.  @tlindsay1007  Crime rate measurements vary depending on the metrics and your sourcing. Most places list either Memphis or St. Louis as the highest per capita in violent crime rates. I find generalized statistics fairly useless for pushing narratives one way or the other. Most major US cities have Democrat governance, but the few which don't are not immune to violent crime. We need to identify and fix the structural issues causing the problems rather than thinking that one side or the other has better solutions. At the end of the day we are all just Americans.
