Asylum seekers are NOT here illegally.

And you sir appear to be uninformed. Fox rarely wants to discuss how our asylum process is set up. Show up to a port of entry or turn yourself in to an immigration official and tell them you want to claim asylum in the US. After hours of documentation you are given a court date at which you may present your asylum claim.

@WaluigiMangione I did notice that Flawduh's hurricane originated off the coast of Venezuela.....hahaha!

See you in Roevember.... No crying though, m'kay?

A touch of xenophobia?

@burnedagain6187 Yes, they are. Fox doesn't like telling you that part, how most of these folks now have asylum claims and a court date. Those who are rejected are returned.

@Kill-The-Architect187 Most of them do go through the asylum claim process though. Sure, some are here completely undocumented but it's waaay fewer than you'll hear about on Fox.

@harryfarber6435 Yeah....the US doesn't follow "International Law".... We follow US law.

@rican21bx83 Most of these folks will outwork most native born Americans. Get off your butt and prove me wrong!

@pattitaylor6509 Yes Patti, they are. Asylum claims have been US law since 1951. Don't like it? Petition your congressmen.

@harryfarber6435 We (the US) do not control Mexico's lack of enforcement. What we do and have done since 1951 is to accept asylum claimants who show up at our borders and other points of entry (airports). Don't like it? Petition your congressmen.

Everyone of European ancestry in the US? I agree!

@jhbb68 The vast majority of these people did exactly what you said. Some did jump the fence, but turned themselves in and a very few actually avoided everything. Fox doesn't like to admit that most of these folks now have papers. Some don't, but they are waaaay fewer than Fox admits. As the people in the video suggest, this is relatively normal. The flood has occurred because asylum claims were basically shut down for four years. The average for 2018 was one asylum claim filed per day. Normally, each officer would handle 25-30 claims per day. Some get asylum and some not. Those who don't are returned to Mexico (or sometimes to another country). Everybody loves screaming about it now, but as the folks in the video said, this has been happening forever. Read the asylum laws of the US.

@jhbb68 There are different ways to immigrate to the US. These folks are using asylum claims. Are they valid? That is to be adjudicated. Those who aren't are returned. Those who have valid claims are accepted. It's been this way since 1951. Want to change it? Petition your representative and senator.

@charlesscovil4849 Or, we take them as they show up. It's how we've done it since 1951. Here's a snippet from USCIS: <*Every year people come to the United States seeking protection because they have suffered persecution or fear that they will suffer persecution due to: Race Religion Nationality Membership in a particular social group Political opinion You may only file this application if you are physically present in the United States, and you are not a U.S. citizen*> Note the last sentence, you must be physically present in the US to present this claim. Any other jeenius statements you'd like to make on the subject?
