Hahaha! Still tired of winning?

It began in the 80s with the push and backing by ex-Nixonites and the Reaganites to allow ownership of an American media organization by a foreigner, Rupert Murdoch. They removed that regulation followed by removing the regulation on mixing television media ownership and print media ownership. They were well aware of what they were creating.

I love big salty tears. Winning, so much winning. And no, we aren't tired yet. 😊

Astroturf does not a good candidate make.

Of course he is, Donnie buys 'em by the truck load.

Polls conducted by biased firms are useless. They are feel-good fodder at best. The problem is that no reasoning can be deduced by a biased poll. A poll like this gives no candidate information they need.

I haven't seen the krembots this nervous since November 2020. 😬 Why so nervous, Ivan?

If ad hominem attacks on the prosecutor and stalling are the very best defense your well-paid lawyers can provide, you are already a loser.

@seanschisler4287 Abbott closed bars, gyms, churches, and indoor dining statewide in March 2020 with an executive order. He rescinded that order in mid-April 2020 and left vital decisions of how to open or not to individual municipalities. That's right, he abandoned his duties. Who else was going to lead during a worsening situation? Mayors. I don't blame Trump for covid, I blame the fumbled response to covid on Trump. Obama had the NSC ready a team and a playbook for a pandemic. Trump disbanded that team and ignored the playbook. And while he was publicly downplaying the situation, he was privately telling Bob Woodward he knew how bad it could get. We needed someone in charge and didn't have it.
1
@tixximmi1 Warren takes millions from Big Pharma? Source? Trust me bro...😂
1
Trump lost. Bigly.
1
@ShuiPian Do you think that a poor response to a worldwide pandemic had anything to do with every grievance you stated?

Gamer kids. Smh.

@EB-du3vh Rock and a hard spot. His failures of leadership became apparent during covid. I honestly believe he was shocked when he won and was using his initial candidacy as "brand-building" to garner wealth. I had listened to snippets of Trump since the 80s and was well aware in advance that he lacks the skills to run anything effectively. He is a prime example of why the inheritance tax should be 100% for anything over $1 million. The idea that we don't have an aristocracy in this country is a farce. We do have upward mobility as a promise, but rely too much on an aristocracy. Old money rots a country through failing upwards.
1
@najgaming5240 Lol, we'll see.

My favorite red light is the latest Fox News poll. 👍

@DisaffectedLiberal Never mind, I got what I needed out of our interaction.

Just vote for Boris Nadezhdin instead. No more cargo 200.
1
@kennyc6597 Just vote against authoritarian oligarchical dictators who back their country into a corner. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
1
@kennyc6597 Trump broke all kinds of laws trying to overturn his election loss. And then he stole lots of top secret documents and wouldn't give them back. He always looked up to his Putin buddy. Birds of a feather flock together. Trump and Putin gotta go.
1
Meanwhile in Moscow, Putin is having a lonely G1 meeting. 😢

Old flat-taxer Steve continues to give only data points which support his narrow views which are mainly focused on allowing the ultra-wealthy to become even richer. I understand why he has that viewpoint, but the shortsidedness of his views would further erode the country which allowed him to earn his incredible fortune. 🤷♂️
1
@MICHAEL-vy3ch Ah, but OP was attempting to say something with his percentages and was not addressing cost of living (including taxation) nor quality of life nor social services nor education nor (fill in the blank). There are reasons people choose to live where they do. Note that I did not say red-people or blue-people, mainly because most people don't think that way. Having worked in each of those states, I can say that each has its own set of plusses and its own set of minuses. I choose to live in none of those places.
1
@MICHAEL-vy3ch One thing I find funny about the take on California-flight: people learn that they can sell their house for a fortune and buy one cheaper in a different state, and even find lower tax rates. The funny thing is that there is always someone else willing to buy that expensive California home. There is, or else the prices would crash. 🤷♂️
1
@MICHAEL-vy3ch At which point you might ask the question: why there? Why are companies willing to pay that premium price to locate in CA? Wages are higher, COL is higher, taxes are higher, etc. Any business model would say "find somewhere else". And yet they still build. I like CA, but would never live there, although I almost did at one point. I found a decent path elsewhere.
1
@MICHAEL-vy3ch My greater point was that data can be used to provide a narrative if that's all you're after. People choose what they want, and no one is static in their wants or beliefs. Everyone wants, mainly, what is best for themselves and their families and make those decisions consciously. Can we complain about anyone else's choices? Sure, but what good does it do?
1
@MICHAEL-vy3ch Yes, but again, growth is a relative thing. We know that wage growth is higher in those two named states. The actual question is why. There are two very different answers and neither is directly related to their governance. Texas has higher wage growth, as does its neighbor New Mexico, due to increased oil production. Florida's wage growth appears to be mainly driven by increases in the service economy because of the influx of new inhabitants and rebuilding/remodeling after storm damages. Both states have also (Texas especially) taken advantage of increased computer chip manufacturing. One thing we have yet to discuss about wage growth is the one downside: higher inflation. That's how CA became so expensive: everyone rushed there for higher wages, great climate, and the great outdoors. Then it got expensive. 🤷♂️ Those whose families had lived there for generations still had to deal with it even though they may not have benefited from the higher wages. I saw it happen in my original hometown (although I had already left) of Seattle. I don't try to predict the future, but it will not surprise me if we hear the CA story (or Seattle story) in Florida and Texas in the near future. Popular is as popular does.
1
@MICHAEL-vy3ch The folks who are leaving CA are doing so by selling those properties they bought years before. This is how they have (mostly) gone to Texas and outbid/overbid properties there. And they still come out way ahead. Sell for a million in CA and buy into TX for a third of that. No state wage taxes and even their property taxes are much less. I've been all over TX, though, and found it doesn't suit me. I like real mountains and the great outdoors.

Some nice Po Tea.
