@McGheeBentle My will to live is irrelevant since it can be purely instinctual and doesn't prove life was worth starting in the first place. Remember the unborn can lay dormant for eternity so unless existence is literal Heaven it doesn't make logical sense to disturb that peace.

@McGheeBentle Actually no, there is debate whether free will is a thing. Once you exist you are a prisoner in your own body and the most primal fear is that of death so there is only illusion of choice not an actual one.

@McGheeBentle When your stomach rumbles, how much choice do you have in whether you eat or not? The subconscious is far more powerful than the conscious mind, and essentially when you create life you are enslaving them with biological shackles. The one escape route from life - death - is incredibly detested by the subconscious, thus entrapping many into living even when they don't really want to.

@SimoneandMalcolm So what do you think about death? Since that also denies potential for life and is inevitable currently. I think most people are conditional natalists, that is if suffering and involuntary death wasn't a thing they wouldn't mind creating new life.

@UberGastronomer The phrase "rest in peace" suggests otherwise. Indeed I would say only living beings can know lack of peace, all non-living things have is peace.

@captainvanisher988 Anti-natalism and Christianity are not mutually exclusive. There are quotes from the Bible you can pull for any viewpoint.
