@lisandro325 But we humans are cursed to know death, we are not dumb brutes who can live in ignorance

I'd bet this guy will discover some small tumor eventually, get it biopsied/excised and get more neurotic and eventually succumb to either heart disease, cancer or stroke like rest of us. But he's providing good data for a database props to him.

Yeah but sometimes you have to wake up to reality. Could Rockefeller purchase an iPhone? No, you cannot buy tech that does not exist in your time period.

Look people have been yearning for immortality as long as we could think, basically what Epic of Gilgamesh was. We are tantalizingly close to it, but I believe only those born in 22nd century will enjoy it.

It represents next step in evolution. We are growing limited by our weak meat bag forms

It's almost purely your genes. The oldest woman to ever live was smoking 80+ years.

Let's ask you on your deathbed, huh? Would your mind change?

@Thebestoneintheworldha i think there is actually a number that is enough time, when you feel you have done and seen everything you wanted to. That probably differs by person though

Cannot make a definitive diagnosis until he dies. Also, what would be the control? Without an identical twin we cannot say any of his interventions worked.

@George_Paul There is no evidence what he is doing leads to any life extension though. Its pretty clear the issues are the genetic level so unless we get exponentially better at gene editing soon none of us can control our lifespans that much.

This seems like feel-good BS. There is too much cellular damage already once you are adult to reverse it. The easiest thing would be to gain more genetic knowledge, excise the bad portions from embryo, then grown them to see how they develop.

Technically oxygen slowly kills us. It causes free radical reactions which screws up our DNA and cell replication, eventually killing us.
1
Well you might as well wish you were born 100 years in the future. Life extension tech will not exist in our lifetime.

Anyone who has worked in morgues can probably also agree. Stuffing once living humans into the dirt to rot must feel wasteful
1
@vin_rouge180 I doubt anyone wants to be immortal, just living long enough to achieve self-actualization and minimize regrets.
