Excellent video and points for international diversification! The US and Europe are declining, while China, then India, and then Africa are rising. I aim to diversify across US, developed, emerging, and frontier markets. Anyway, thank you for the fine educational content!

@elephantandcastle838 Great points! That's something to think about. Thank you for sharing.

Same here! I learn new vocabulary and concepts every time. I also rewind and rewatch a lot, sometimes pausing to look up a term or study.

Yes! Ben, Richard, and Sven Carlin are my top three.

Excellent content! I'm just learning about the the endowment model and glad that you covered it. Thanks so much.

Very interesting, and I'm looking forward to Dr. Sven Carlin's response! Core-satellite strategy = best of both worlds (index funds with individual stocks, passive and active).

Interesting video and research! It's cool to hear the research about risk tolerance and perception by gender. Studies show that women tend to be better investors than men. The suggested allocation in the "Beyond the Status Quo" study is very interesting, with 33% domestic stocks and 67% international stocks. My portfolio is about 95% stocks, around 70% US, 30% international, and planning to increase international exposure over time. Thank you for the knowledge, terminology, and food for thought! Thank you for the risk survey, also. It says I have an Average/Moderate tolerance for risk. I thought my tolerance as high or above average. Very interesting.

Very intriguing video! I appreciate the historical content. Niall Ferguson's book sounds interesting. I waasn't aware of him. I am reminded of what Peter Lynch said: "As I look back on it now, it's obvious that studying history and philosophy was much better preparation for the stock market than, say, studying statistics."

If someone is happy with average market returns and less research, then low-cost total market funds are probably a good way to invest. If someone has specific, different needs or goals, wants higher returns, wants to mitigate exposure to risk, or can devote more time to research, then market funds may not suit their needs. That's what I got from this video, anyway.
