It's interesting how financial literacy is no longer taught in most US schools

@ARZiehm Good points. I guess it's our job to help the students see how it affects them, how it's important, and why they should care. Not always easy. It also depends on the community you serve. Some kids have it rough and need to work and run businesses to support their family. Some teens are skilled at street business and make more than we do. So I think they might buy in more readily. But you're probably right about most students.

@ARZiehm On the other hand, who cares about math? But we all have to learn it, even advanced math we'll never use. Everyone will use financial literacy at some point, or at least will see the benefits if they do. So maybe it should just be required.

@HoboSapien619 Financial literacy isn't often taught in Economics. I teach Economics in California, and here Econ is only one semester of Grade 12. There's almost nothing about financial literacy or personal finance in the standards. It's about the US economy and market economics. I can be flexible where I teach, so I focus on financial literacy because it's relevant, necessary, and helpful. You are fortunate to have learned financial literacy in school. You can teach others now.
